Newsletter EIGHT – More Experience

Sunday the 13th Feb (day before Valentines) is the day I’ll be playing solo all day (2 till 7) at the Anglers Club in Port Pirie. Always a great gig with people who love their music.
.
Not sure if dancing is allowed yet. Would be good if it was. Sometimes it’s hard for a live musician to know whether people like what you’re doing when they’re only allowed to sit with a mask on!
.
Had about 45000 plays on Spotify last week. A bit of a record for me – but piddly for most artists I’m sure! And before you think “wow”. you should know those plays only represent about $4 in royalties!
.
Curiously I have a new favorite among followers – Mum and Dad – a song about being a horrible kid and then saying sorry when you grow up. Could be the emotional attachment to a common scenario has finally found an audience?
.
Getting close to releasing the NEXT album. Decided to make it a 10-track release, mainly because it’s hard to promote a double album these days. The system isn’t designed for it anymore.
.
Two new songs will finish off the recording. A rap/Nirvana style song called Nasty Girl plus an as yet unnamed ballad to complete the NEXT experience!
.
I’ll be painting my own cover too, just to make the artwork a little more interesting and off the wall.
.
Anyway, be happy.
