Newsletter FOUR – The Experience

It’s that time of the week again. Time to fill you in on the latest exploits of The Experience.
.
The whole world seems to be imploding over the Omicron variant and pretty much all the precautions we’ve been living under for the last couple years seem irrelevant, even perhaps a bit silly.
.
Clearly, if this virus wants us to share its destiny we were wasting our time trying to fight it.
My question is: why is the Wuhan lab not being held accountable – and why is it not paying the bill for the hell it unleashed on the world?
.
Meanwhile back at the farm, we’ve closed our gate and gone figuratively underground. On the upside I’ve been working on a few new songs influenced by a bit of Reggaeton and, as promised last week, I’ve released my Never2Late album on Bandcamp. Still sounds fresh to me.

In case you wondered, my long term ambition is to be asked to play live at major music festivals around the world, with a band or perhaps without, depending on the set up available. You know how it is, many big audio set ups actually prefer you to use backing software these days. Either way, I want to make enough fuss and noise with my music online via Spotify and Facebook that I become a “sought after” artist on the live circuit. And I want to achieve all this with my own original material.
.
Yes I’ll admit there are many fans of mine who are more than happy with the covers I do but, to be frank, it’s next to impossible to become successful with other artist’s songs because the entire music industry is set up to keep copyright material sacred and to ensure original material flows unhindered from original artists.
.
Actually it’s always been difficult to make it as a cover artist. (The exceptions usually prove the rule!)
.
The charts, streaming platforms and radio stations – indeed music fans generally – have always preferred buying and playing new music over old!
.
On that note, have a wander through my top songs on Spotify

Thanks for listening. See you soon.
